We reply that the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) established the principle that every intoxicant is forbidden, and therefore it doesn't matter what kind of intoxicant that is; whether it is new or old; nor does it matter whether it is something which is drunk, inhaled, or injected.

“Say, 'I do not find within that which was revealed to me [anything] forbidden to one who would eat it, unless it is a dead animal; or blood spilled out; or the flesh of swine – for indeed, it is impure; or it is [that slaughtered in] disobedience, dedicated to other than Allah…” [The Qur'an: al-An'aam 6:145]
